Livia’s Parent Corner highlights the kids of Arete Living employees and residents. This section is named after Livia Thompson, Senior Life Enrichment Director with Avamere at Bethany, who initiated this idea.

I have a passion for the quality of people’s lives, and I feel blessed to be part of the of the Avamere/Arete Living family again.
I currently work with the Avamere at Hillsboro team in the Dietary Department. This is the second Avamere community that I have had the honor of working with.
I am Oregon born and raised. I love going to the beach. It is my favorite place to visit.
When I am not working, I love to spend time with my daughter, our family, and friends. A few of my hobbies are taking pictures, doing arts and crafts, and working on my podcast, Emotional Traffic Report. I love sharing stories and observations about my life and others.
I am the proud mother of a 6-year-old daughter, Evelyn. She is the love of my life. She is a kindergartner this year and loves everything about school. Her most favorite things are making new friends, recess (of course!), and learning everything. She loves playing games with her family, especially My Little Pony, Monopoly, and Sorry. One of her most favorite friends is her kitten, Cleo.
Evelyn would swim everyday if she could. She has learned flips, dives, and underwater somersaults this summer. We think she might be part mermaid.
Being part of Avamere has been a family tradition for me for 17 years. My mother, Livia Thompson, started working for Avamere at Bethany when I was 10 years old. I grew up celebrating holidays, community events, and milestones with my many “extra grandparents.” I also worked at Bethany for a year in the Dietary Department too and treasured serving the residents of that community too.
I am thankful for all of the special moments and looking forward to continuing to create more memories in our Hillsboro community.
